“Delete the negative; accentuate the positive!”-Donna Karan

Donna Karan’s designs are constructed for curves. Her body-conscious style has made her a favorite of women since the 1980’s and her unique New York City flair made her “The Queen of Seventh Avenue.” Karan, born Donna Faske, grew up in Long Island New York and attended Parsons design school in Manhattan. She went on to get a summer job at Anne Klein and went far with the company. She became head designer of the brand after Klein’s passing and launched a sister line, Anne Klein II.

After her success at Anne Klein she decided to go it alone and debuted her first collection in 1985. Her line took off right away and her philosophy about timeless clothing that can be worn any season resonated with women in New York and across the globe. Her success allowed her to launch DKNY soon after, a younger, less expensive, extension of the Donna Karan brand. Fans of her clothing encompass a wide range of ages, sizes, and personal styles. Her designs have been seen on Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Susan Sarandon, Jennifer Aniston, Christina Hendricks, and Blake Lively.
