Victor Costa I. Magnin

Victor Costa I. Magnin

"The word 'fashion' would not exist if there were no copying,"-Victor Costa

Victor Costa made a name for himself by interpreting French designs for an American audience. Costa was obsessed with Hollywood starlets as a child and started designing dresses for his friends in Houston Texas. He studied design at Pratt in New York and got his start in bridal design after graduating. In 1965 after working for Murray Hamberger and Pandora bridal ateliers he joined with Suzy Perette where he became known for his “line for line” copies of Parisian fashion. He established his own design house in 1973 and later expanded to include a bridal line. His style is more reserved than trendy and echoes classic 1950’s glamor.
